Make Your Own Skincare at Home

 

 

Did you know that our skin absorbs 60% of what you put on it; Something to consider when it comes to skincare products, as many of them contain harsh ingredients. What you put on your body is as important as what you put in it, so The List’s Donna Ruko spoke with alternative and holistic health expert Jolene Goring who gave us a list of “3 ingredient” recipes that are all natural, and the best part, you may already have these in your pantry.

A couple of basic ingredients can be modified to make unlimited natural skincare products:

Sea Salt Body Glow

  1. Extra Fine Sea salt – gently exfoliates skin, anti-bacterial, balances skin PH
  2. Coconut Oil – super moisturizing, anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, soothing
  3. Honey – helps your skin retain moisture

Cellulite Blaster

  1. Fine Sea Salt – vigorous scrubbing breaks down cellulite, absorbs toxins from the skin
  2. Coconut Oil – moisturizing to improve skin elasticity and tone
  3. Coffee grounds – increases blood flow to skin, minimizes cellulite

Vital C antioxidant Face Scrub

  1. Vitamin C powder (or crushed vit C tablets) – antioxidant, anti-aging, exfoliating, unclogs pores
  2. Honey – helps your skin retain moisture , anti-bacterial
  3. Coconut oil – moisturizing

Optional extras:

Vanilla/almond extract – Fragrance

Lemon juice – Skin brightening

Lavender essential oil – Relaxation/calm

Peppermint essential oil – Invigorate/energize
